Fallen TV kills Richland toddler
RICHLAND, Wash. -- An 18-month-old Richland child died on Sunday after a TV fell off its stand causing significant head trauma.

Richland police confirmed the child died just before 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. The toddler was at its home at the Jadwin Village Apartments; his mother, her boyfriend and a neighbor were in the residence at the time of the accident. Police say they were not in the room with the child when the TV fell.

Richland Fire Department and police were called to the apartment, the child died approximately 15 minutes before reaching the hospital.

Child Protective Services is investigating the incident, at this time there is no indication of foul play. Drug and alcohol testing will be part of the standard investigation.
