KENNEWICK POLICE DEPARTMENT MEDIA RELEASE - On June 22, 2014 at 1859 hours, officers with the Kennewick Police Department responded to the parking lot of Fred Meyer in Kennewick for a report of an assault.

Case information led officers to believe that the suspect attempted to kidnap the victim. The victim, a 65 year of age female, had arrived in the parking lot and within a few moments as she prepared to get out from her vehicle, a black male in his early to mid-twenties entered her car via the rear of the vehicle and grabbed her telling her to not leave and to stay in the car or he would do harm to her.

The victim fought the male and got out from her vehicle and fled to the Fred Meyer building. The male left the location possibly in a black sedan. The male is still at large. The victim sustained minor injuries.
