KENNEWICK, Wash. - One man is in custody after a brief SWAT standoff on Dayton Place in Kennewick after he made threats to kill police officers on Craigslist.

Police say 38-year-old Keith Brier was upset over tickets KPD gave him, so he made threats on the "Rants and Raves" page of the website. They executed a search warrant with Craigslist so they could locate Brier, getting him off the streets before he made good on promises of violence.

"You'd never know if it's to the public as well, but this is a person who definitely had a grudge against law enforcement, specifically Kennewick police officers, and was willing to shoot it out, kill a police officer, so definitely he's a threat to the entire community at that point," said KPD Sgt. Ken Lattin.

Brier's 6-year-old son was in the home of the time of the SWAT raid. He was handed over to his mother.

Washington Elementary was locked down for an hour to keep students safe.
