BENTON CITY, Wash. - Another shake-up for the Kiona-Benton School District. Superintendent Rom Castilleja suddenly resigned.

Calls to the district have not yet been returned. Board member Tim Cook verified Castilleja left on his own.

He will be paid his full salary until June, when his contract actually expires.

Most parents KEPR spoke to were a bit surprised they weren't officially notified.

Gloria Katz said, "If it's something that's going to happen where our kids are going, we as parents, even a little flier, you know, hey, this is what's going on. Not reading it and blasting it on Facebook. That's the worst way to find out."

Finance director Kim Scott will take over until a replacement is found.
