PASCO, Wash. - Construction on the new Delta High School will start soon. The groundbreaking was Wednesday in west Pasco.

The new campus will sit off Broadmoor Boulevard. It will serve 400 students throughout the Tri-Cities.

The school will continue to focus on science, technology, engineering and math, a focus known as STEM.

Principal Jenny Rodriquez has been with the school since it was founded. The new facility will be a step up from the portables near the Richland Library.

She said, "This last year's going to be a tough one. It will be crowded but the students and the faculty. They're prepared for that knowing that this beautiful facility is on the way. It will really allow us to upgrade the technology that our students have access to that will be in the new facility."

The new Delta High is expected to be ready in time for school the following year.
