PASCO, Wash. -- Part of the Blue Bridge will be closed Thursday for most of the day. Crews will be repairing guardrails damaged by cars sliding in the snow.

This affects the southbound lanes only from 10am to 3pm. You won't be able to get on at West Lewis Street.

WSDOT will also check the integrity of the bridge. Crews will perform a surface check to make sure it's structurally sound.

Mark Brewster with WSDOT tells KEPR they will check for fractures in the deck.

"Just normal wear-and-tear things. We just do a basic overview of the whole bridge so that something doesn't surprise us," he said.

More in-depth inspections for the bridge, including underneath, happen every two years.
